As you explore the quaint side streets, keep your eyes peeled for a Jenever sign.

Inside, you'll find micro distilleries producing variations of this Dutch specialty drink.

Derived from the juniper berry, Jenever tastes a lot like gin and is certainly worth sampling.

And it's really difficult to top a quiet stroll through one of the city's canal side flower shops.

The bursts of color and smells will certainly capture attention and it's a great place to pick up some gifts for home.

I find Amsterdam to be one of the friendliest cities in the world, and it's an easy place to feel like you're a local.
