The most amazing trip we have ever taken
This was the most amazing trip we have ever taken. Thank you to Viking for providing such a safe environment, complete with luxurious hotels and gracious, well-informed tour guides—ours was very dependable, caring and patient. We witnessed sights we have only read about and would have never imagined setting foot in. We were in constant awe and comfort as the days flew by. This is the time to visit China and Viking is the only way to do it.

Viking treated us like royalty
This was an absolutely fascinating trip. Viking treated us like royalty and made sure we saw so many wonderful sights—from the Great Wall to a private home in Beijing where we were invited to sit down and have a cup of tea. There were just enough optional activities available besides all the important sights that were included; the provincial museum in Wuhan and seeing ceramic pottery being hand-crafted stand out the most. Do not forget to add the Hong Kong & Guilin extension; the scenery is beyond spectacular and you learn some fascinating things there. And, just to reassure you, it was not just the Viking staff that was warm and friendly—we encountered many wonderful locals who were genuinely happy to welcome us to their country.

Everything was first-class
Our extended family was privileged to experience China’s Cultural Delights for 17 wonderful days. It was the first time our son Stephen (13 years old) had left the country and what an experience it was. Everything was first-class and expertly organized. It was quite a journey; from old Shanghai, to the acrobats, the silk factory, our cruise down the Yangtze, the Buddhist temples, panda bears, Terra Cotta warriors and the Peking opera—all that was just the tip of the iceberg! We loved our tour guide, who made us feel at home and kept us entertained while he shared thoughts and insights into his homeland. We can’t figure out how you got us through it all so flawlessly. We will never forget this trip and have recommended Viking to all of our friends. Thanks so much Viking River Cruises!
