All gratuities and tipping are included on Europe, Russia and Ukraine holidays, which includes all staff from the Program Director and Hotel Manager to restaurant waitstaff, housekeeping, local guides and drivers.
On our China holidays tipping and gratuities for Program Director, on board crew and staff are included in your cruise price. For your convenience we have listed tipping guidelines / recommendations for other services below.
Tipping and gratuities for our Southeast Asia itineraries are not included in your cruise price, but are a voluntary way of showing satisfaction for good service.
The following guidelines are based on typical amounts; they vary by region so please read the section for the region to which you will be travelling. Please note that, where local city guides and coach drivers are not included in the gratuities, any tipping should be done in cash on the day of the tour as you are not likely to see them again.
China
In China, tips should be given in U.S. dollars. Guidelines:
• Program Director/onboard staff – included in cruise price
• Tour Escort – $10 per person, per day
• Local city guides – $2 per person, per day
• Coach drivers – $1 per person, per day
Southeast Asia
In the Mekong & Burma region, tips should be given in U.S. dollars. Guidelines:
• Program Director/onboard staff – $10 per person, per day
• Tour Escort – $10 per person, per day
• Local city guides – $2 per person, per day
• Coach drivers – $1 per person, per day
