Please remember to obtain all required travel documents prior to departure and check your documentation carefully to avoid incurring costs associated with delays, losses or obtaining documents while travelling. When travelling abroad, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months following your visit. Guests are advised to check with their travel agent to determine which documents they must obtain. If incorrect documents are obtained, guests will be unable to participate in particular shore excursions and may be denied boarding and/or entry into certain countries.
Passports
Due to airline security measures, your passport name must match your airline ticket name or you may be denied boarding. Your passport’s expiration date must be at least six months after your return from your trip; if it is not, you should renew your passport.
Visas
If you are traveling with us to China, Russia, Ukraine or Egypt, you will need a visa. For a Russian visa you will need to contact Viking River Cruises for an Invitation Letter. You may download a Request Form for this letter here . If you are traveling to Egypt, you may either obtain your visa in advance or purchase it upon arrival at the exchange counter in the airport arrival area before immigration. Payment can be made in Egyptian pounds, American dollars or by credit card; the cost is $15 US or about 85 Egyptian pounds.

Pre-trip information
Shortly after you make your reservation, you will receive a letter and invoice by mail along with a small packet of pre-trip information. A more extensive pre-trip information kit can be found

Distribution of travel documents
Tickets and other travel documents will be issued approximately 3 weeks prior to departure. All early document requests will be charged a $25 early processing fee.
