Please remember to obtain all required travel documents prior to departure and check your documentation carefully to avoid incurring costs associated with delays, losses or obtaining documents while travelling. When travelling abroad, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months following your visit. Guests are advised to check with their travel agent to determine which documents they must obtain. If incorrect documents are obtained, guests will be unable to participate in particular shore excursions and may be denied boarding and/or entry into certain countries.
Due to airline security measures, your passport name must match your airline ticket name or you may be denied boarding. Your passport’s expiration date must be at least six months after your return from your trip; if it is not, you should renew your passport.
If you are an Australian or New Zealand passport holder travelling with us to China, Russia or Southeast Asia, you will need a visa. You will need to have a valid passport as discussed above before you make these arrangements. For a Russian visa you will need to contact Viking River Cruises for an Invitation Letter. You may download a Request Form for this letter here. As a service to Guests, visas are available from an independent third party upon request. If you would like to obtain your visa(s) through our partner, please visit their website here. All other passport holders are advised to check visa requirements with our third party partner, you can access their website here.
Shortly after you make your reservation, you will receive a letter, invoice and some preliminary pre-trip information by email. A more extensive pre-trip information kit can be found here. Packing tips, weather charts and other details that may be helpful in planning your trip can be accessed by selecting the On the Ship section from the menu above.
